While attending the Tree Lighting Ceremony the WIFD was dispatched to a MVA at the intersection of Ridgewood St and Udall Rd. On scene was two Chiefs, two ambulances, and one Rescue Pumper !

WIFD helped celebrate the Ameican Legions Tree Lighting Ceremony @ the intersection of Udall Rd and Higbie Lane.

On Thursday 10/15/09 we responded to a signal 16-23 MVA (confirmed over-turned vehicle) on the Robert Moses Causeway. Upon arrival of 3-17-30,  it was discovered the sole occupant had self extricated and refused medical attention.

WIFD responded to a signal 16-23 MVA w/ an ejection @ the Robert Moses Drawbridge. Upon arival of first due units it was determined that one car hit a parked & unoccupied NYS DOT vehicle. The patient was in critical condition and transported to Good Sam Hospital. The Town of Islip Hazardous Materials Team was requested to the scene to assist in the clean up of fuel, oil, and transmission fluid.

On 5-15-09 we responded to this MVA on Robert Moses Causeway with Heavy Rescue requested.
